Window Units or Portable A/C Units
A great idea for emergency situations for air conditioning or heating is to have a window unit. It’s an investment that can keep you comfortable when parts are not available, or it just simply takes longer to schedule the repair or even installation. A window unit investment can be anywhere from $300-600 (or less at wholesale stores) it’s just enough to keep a room or the living space comfortable and many are heat pumps so it’s great for summer or winter. Many people have space heaters for emergencies in winter; why not have an emergency solution for summer as well. Most window units are now smaller and easier to install than portable units and you don’t have to worry about where the condensate goes on a window unit.
Sharing a thought that can ease summer pains and allow cooler heads to prevail during decision-making. By having an emergency backup you eliminate poor spending decisions while keeping cool
P.S. most window units are 115 volt and can be used with any regular generator so for hurricane or any type of power outage if you have a small generator you can hook up your window unit and stay comfortable until the power comes back on.
